The Redbuds are Blooming

Texas Redbuds (Cercis canadensis var. ‘texensis’) are blooming!! These local natives, with their vibrant, pinkish, purple flowers are eye-catching at this time of year. These drought resistant trees grow well in our alkaline soil, reaching 15-20 Ft. in height. The Mexican Redbud (Cercis canadensis var. ‘mexicana’) is another great landscape alternative, reaching approximately 12 Ft. in height.
